Join the local chapter of this national effort and commute to work in downtown Dayton by bike. To make it easier, Drive Less Live More will feature guided rides from the east, west, and south along the recreation trails. Free Drive Less Live More give-aways to first 200 riders. Free breakfast and prizes at the National City Bank 2nd Street Public Market. Bike to Work Day corporate sponsors include the Miami Valley Regional Planning Commission.

River Ride
Mark your calendar for July 18 and 25th! Yep, that’s right. This year there will be two free River Rides. The first is set for Saturday, July 18. It’ll be an out-and-back starting in Miamisburg and heading south to Franklin.
The next weekend, we’ll head north to Troy for a tour of sites along the city’s recreation trail. Details for the River Rides are being finalized but each ride will be about 15 miles long.
There will be food, drink, maybe tours of historical sites and more. Stay tuned for more details.
Miami Valley Cycling Summit
Join forces on Friday, Aug. 14, with cycling enthusiasts, public officials, and advocacy groups from around the region in their efforts to make the Miami Valley the first Bike Friendly Region in Ohio.
The Miami Valley Cycling Summit will provide engaging workshops, roundtables, presentations, a grass roots happy hour and much more for all members of the cycling community.
Guest speakers will include authors, regional and national cycling advocates and members of local communities celebrating the cycling movement and supporting the continued momentum of Cycling in the Miami Valley.
We'll list more details as plans are finalized.
Live Green Fest
Is this your year to go green? If you need a little help, head to Carillon Park on Saturday, Sept. 19, for Greater Dayton RTA's "Live Green Fest" from noon to 6 p.m. Experience workshops on eco-action choices, transportation alternatives, and organic cooking while you enjoy live music and great food.
Live Green Fest will bring together environmental activists, committed businesses and organizations dedicated to increasing awareness and use of green products and services.
One Less Trip Contest

Vanpool Subsidy Program
If you commute more than 25 miles one-way, you and a group of up to 14 people may be interested in leasing a van on a monthly basis. The MVRPC Rideshare Program has vans available for groups wanting to vanpool to work. As an added incentive, MVRPC will pay up to 50 percent of the monthly lease rate. Learn more.
